Dr. Martin Barker, B.Sc. (kin), DC
Dr. Barker is a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and of the University of Victoria Kinesiology program. Dr. Barker has received an eclectic chiropractic education, taking course on many adjusting techniques and in chiropractic pediatrics. Although not a sports specialist, Dr. Barker has worked with and participated in many sports and enjoys working with the unique needs of the athlete.
Dr. Barker chose to pursue a doctoral career during his tenure working at the Crofton Mill in the now defunct Stone Mill. Not being an advocate of 'drug' therapies and having been exposed to chiropractic through a previous Martial Arts Instructor, who was also a chiropractor, Dr. Barker chose chiropractic as his field of choice.
Dr. Barker has been a resident of the Valley since 1993 and has loved every moment here. Dr. Barker participates in the local ice hockey (Dr. Barker is a very poor hockey player), drop-in volleyball and every now-and-then, sailing races in the region.
