More about Kristin Smart
Yoga is such a huge piece of life in the community of Vancouver that Kristin couldn't help but get swept up into it while living in Kitsilano back in 2010. Living directly across the street from a Yoga Studio, she quickly fell in love with the benefits and balancing aspects of regularly practicing yoga. As a formerly competitive and elite long distance runner, yoga offered the perfect compliment opposite to her intense running program. With time, she also noticed how much it helped to keep her running healthy and injury-free.
In 2017, after some other life changes including moving out of the big City and into the Cowichan Valley on the Island, she became certified in a 250 hour Yoga Teacher Training Program (Hatha based). In December 2019, she enrolled in continuing education to work towards obtaining 500 hours Teacher Training. In January 2020, she completed an additional two certificate courses to specialize in teaching Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra.
With a background in Personal Training and several years of teaching Group Fitness and Boot camp Classes - long before yoga had found a place in her life - Kristin has a vast knowledge of the body and health, which helps in recognizing and accommodating limitations in people's bodies.
When she isn't in the studio, Kristin can be found running, hiking her dog (& others!), and painting with Oil's to make beautiful portraits and colorful art pieces.
